I have advance searched and checked FAQ if I missed feel free to ream me a new one. I am doing some trouble shooting on my 97's cruise control. The FSM states to use the sst to connect two terminals of the DLC like you would in setting the timing but specifies DLC 2. I can find DLC 1 and DLC 3 no problem but nothing on DLC 2. I have looked all over the truck and the FSM. I can't even find any wiring schematics for the truck. My FSM for the 4runner has great schematics in the back but not for the FZJ. Is DLC 2 a misprint or am I just blind? Any help is appreciated. I will go back to checking the truck and the FSM again.

Thanks in advance.

the wiring diagrams are in a seperate manual for the LC,

my 96 manual says to use DLC1 under the hood near the wiper motor, only other DLC conector I have seen is the OBDII conector DLC3, not sre what happened to DLC2

(c) Output of DTC using diagnosis check wire.
(1) Turn the ignition switch ON.
(2) Using SST, connect terminals Tc and E1 of DLC1.
SST 09843–18020
(3) Read the DTC on the CRUISE MAIN indicator light.

Thank you very much, I was starting to worry. I had a feeling that they might mean the DLC1 as the illustration looked the same. I was worried they might look the same physically but have a different wire layout and I would fry something which would be just my luck. I will go give it a try in a few and post the results.

Much obliged RavenTai. The DLC1 was correct one to use, don't know why it says DLC2, must be a typo.

FYI for all other 97 owners who may have the same manual typo.

1997 Toyota Land Cruiser Manual #RM510U
Page BE-76

OUTPUT OF DTC

1. Turn the ignition switch ON.
2. Using SST, connect terminal Tc and E1 of DLC2.
SST 09843-18020
3. Read the DTC on the CRUISE MAIN indicator light.
HINT: If the DTC is not output inspect the Tc circuit.

Number 2 above should read DLC1 not DLC2. Per RavenTai's suggestion I used DLC1 and got the CRUISE MAIN indicator light to flash appropriately. DTC came up normal but I did find the cruise control cable lock nuts had come loose at the throttle body end creating a good bit of slack. I eliminated the slack in the cable and tightened them up. Problem solved.

Amazing what you can find when you don't have tunnel vision looking for a DLC that isn't there. Thanks again RavenTai.

cool glad you got it fixed,

I would turn on the cruise control while on the highway. The light came on like normal but when I hit set and let off the gas the truck would slow down and not hold speed. IIRC it would shut off the cruise after slowing down too much below the selected speed.
