My truck was running like crap this afternoon.Hooked scanner and got PO300 random misfire detected.I'm running on BOSCH PLATINIUMS +4's,maybe have 20k on them.Is it the plugs or I should check something else? All your input will be greatly appreciated.

Did you clear that code and look for a second code? The scanner I used said the same thing when I had a coil go bad. Could be a connection at a coil or a coil itself. Look for another code to tell you which cylinder is having the problem. coils are about $80 each and you have 8 of them. So narrow it down. Not a bad idea to just order a coil anyway. It's a diy for sure. 1 bolt holds each of them in place. they are on top of the spark plugs.

Thanx Packer and Farinvail.Bought new coil pack from AutoZone -Duralast
#C1173 for $99.Bad one was on #6 cylinder.Truck runs perfect now,the only thing is CEL still on and throwing code P1325 Igniter Circut Malfunction No.6.
Any idea?

probably just have to reset the code. Or it wants a toyota coil in there:clap:

Sounds like my truck don't like aftermarket parts.
I decided to check the coil with multimeter.Readings were way off than OEM .
Between pin1-3 (looking from the top)5.7kohm and pin1-4 3.7kohm on the new coil.OEM reads 23.8kohm and 24.1kohm .
Will make a trip to the dealer tommorow and pick one from them.Never had any problems with aftermarket parts before.Thanx for all your help.

1st ? is what cause the coil to go bad in the 1st place? I notice you say you run bosch plugs, stay away from those, you should only be running ngk/nippon denso plugs like what the factory recommends, I've seen a-lot of toyotas having engine misfire issue because of using non ngk/nippon denso plugs.

I don't mean to sound like Mr know it all here, Im just trying to help, Im not going to benefit anything by bullsh*t ing* with you.:)

Got new coil from the dealer today.Truck runs perfect again ,no more codes!!!
Little expensive $124(James Toyota,Flemington NJ)part #90080-19027.
Thanx for the advice IMPRATAZN.New set of NGK's it's on the way.Always had that impression that BOSCH is top notch.

I suspect that even though the parts are identical and come off the same assembly line. The Toyota OEM pass more rigorous QC and those that fail are rounded up with a bunch that never go through the OEM QC and shipped for third party aftermarket.

Kind of like M193 surplus. Some of it is the best in the world and some are floor sweepings.
