As many of you know, we are always trying to make every Ramble better than the last... I have spoken with a few of you guys about having a band... So I would like everyone that is involved with it to weigh in...

I spoke to Mike and Grady. They are a 2 piece acoustic guitar duo and they have told me that they could play Friday June 5, 2015 at our event for $750

I will try to post some you tube links so you can give them a listen...

You can post your thoughts here or PM me.

Thanks,
Scott

Look up Mike and Grady acoustic on you tube..,

I tried copy and pasting video and it didn't work....

What are the dates of this event?

First weekend in June 4-7 2015.

I am down with getting this duo to play the Ramble. Change things up a little bit, since our baggo tournament, as fun as it is, doesn't seem to be catching on...

Does anyone have any objections to this idea? We need to decide so we can get them booked.

I don't object. The Ramble seems to be picking up steam from the laid back days of a few years ago. I don't think a band would hurt that trend. CottonLand guys expect a party.

A band would be awesome. Would cost of the event go up? What sacrifice(s) would there be, other than a baggo "tournament"?? Less club bought items for raffle or cheaper source for food to even out costs maybe?

You already know my thoughts on it... I say book 'em. I think the band is one of the major attractions for Cottonland's event...

I think a goal of the 2015 planners should be to not raise the registration price unless necessary, and to have the same quality of food/shirts/prizes as usual.

We have no intention of raising the price of registration, I think the club can absorb the cost for some extra entertainment. Even after donating $250 back to TLCA and another $150 to Hearts and Hooves (local charity that provides horse assisted therapy to people with disabilities, both physical and emotional) we have some money left over that should be able to cover the added expense.

I will get ahold of Stacy and get his thoughts on it before we pull the trigger... Do we need to vote on this?

I did search the you tube and these guys look perfect for our event. Good range of songs across years & genre.
I 2nd the motion and put me down as voting an " I ". Book them.
Additionally, I am also in favor of holding the cost of registration to no more than absolutely necessary. Perhaps a $5 increase? Last years pre-registration of 40 (listed on RLC webpage) @ 5.00 would have covered 1/4 the cost to book. That would still put Ramble significantly less than SCC.
We can discuss and finalize the financials at next BOD meeting.

If there are no objections, I move that go ahead and move forward with setting this in stone. Speak now or forever hold your peace ☺

For the record, it is a unanimous go for it, from the BOD.

I texted them... Waiting on reply... May have to call them...

Sweet, I look forward to it! I think we will benefit from having one and chances are the band will enjoy the scene.

Mike and Grady are booked for Friday June 5 2015
