Curious if anyone in the Raleigh area has a decent press and bearing splitter that I could make use of for a bit? I'm in the middle of installing Marlin's crawler gears in my FJ80 and have quickly come to realize that my setup and press accessories aren't going to cut it. I just taco'd my HF bearing splitter and my 12T press work envelope is making this a challenge. Before I resort to buying more tools and waiting for them to arrive, by chance is there someone in the area that is tooled up for something like this and would be willing to help me out? The low range assembly is on the bench and fairly clean.

I've got the same setup with a HF 20 ton close by if you want to try and go at it again.

If you want to go professional I'd see if East Coast Gear Supply would do it.

I've got the gear you're looking for in Durham. @SeanLX is much closer though.

Do either of you have a large bearing splitter? I just ordered a large used U.S. made one off eBay but it will be a week before it arrives. Need something larger than 4.5" as the gear under the splitter has a large OD and limits your ability to support it if it's on the small size. This is likely a 9" bearing splitter which can be supported well. Sean or Johny, is your gear up for something like this? If not, I may have to wait for my behemoth splitter to show up (18lb shipping weight).

I have a large bearing splitter similar to the one pictured. I'd have to measure it when I get home.

I checked last night and my bearing splitter is the cheap one that probably came with the HF 20 ton press. It's about 6" across.

We can try using mine or wait till your XL one comes in and try that one on the 20 ton with a little more room to work.
