Rain sensor not working (1 Viewer)

I have noticed since we’ve been getting rain that the rain sensor is no longer working. The bracket had partially come loose from the windshield a while back and I epoxied it back and the rain sensor seem to work at the time. If you sprayed water on the windshield then it would work the windshield wipers. I checked the sensor and it seems to be securely mounted. Has anybody else had this issue with a 2014 or similar model year? I’m fine buying a new rain sensor but was curious if anyone else has seen this issue?

Yes, I had to replace the clear silicone strip that goes between the sensor and the windshield. Even then it wouldn't work right so I unplugged it for about a year. Then just the other day I reapplied the clear strip, this time using some windex to keep it slippery on the window so I could put it in just the right position. Now it works. Eventually the windex dries and your sticky piece stays where you put it. A little trick I learned from applying BMX frame stickers.

I’ll check the strip - likely it just needs to be rehydrated like you mentioned. It did work but just seems to have lost it
