My setup includes a Kenwood head, separate EQ, separate AMP, plus Eclipse speakers.

The Kenwood, is the one where the face panel flips when you turn the ignition off. Well tonight when I started the car the face flip to on position, a CD that is stuck in it is playing but none of the lights, knobs on the radio are functioning. Can't even eject the CD or turn the volume up. Guess I have to keep listening to the same CD..lol. Any ideas as to what the problem might be? Could it be a fuse..but the again the CD is playing?

Have a Happy New Year all!

Are you positive that the faceplate has completed it's transition to 'open' ? It might be a fraction off ... that might make a difference . What about the harness .. anty wear ?

My buttons will not fuction when one particular button messes up .. the volume click button . In which case I actually have to press 'in' on it , and then all the other buttons work . Its as though it's dysfunction shorts all the others out ...

I just did this repair on a friends Kenwood, 817 . I personally would not do it again. between prying the taped together face apart and soldering those little tiny connections, I would just buy a new head unit. Just my $.02
