So I bought a factory cd/tape deck to replace my factory tape deck in my 96 4runner. I believe I have the reset code. I do not have the 3 digit unlock code. All I need to know is how to enter the 6 digit reset code. Ie what is the procedure to get to the point where I can enter the 6 digit code. I would greatly appreciate it if anyone could tell me.
Thankyou,

jetboy

I'm not sure what the reset code is, but the unlock code can only be had from the dealership. They will try to charge you, but if you raise h377, maybe you can get them to do it for free. I had Honda give me the lost code to my S2000 radio for free (but with them, it was zero hassle. I just gave them the serial number to the radio and they gave me the code).

Not sure if you read the post. I have the 6 digit master code. They are available online. I only need to know the buttons to hold down to allow me to enter the master reset code. I can also get that online, but I have to pay for that part. I only paid $10 for the stereo, so it's not worth it to pay much for the info. Thanks.

Funny how things go...I just had work done and had to do the stereo reset using the 3 digit code. I am sorry though, asI didn't know about the 6 digit reset code option. Good luck anyways!

That's my problem. I bought it used and didn't get the 3 digit code. So apparently you have to enter 3 digit code nine times and then the unit locks up. Then you have to have some sort of hold down three buttons for five seconds and enter a 6 digit code that is a master reset code. I just don't know which buttons to hold down. I have the stinking code, I just don't know how to enter it. If the master codes are available online for free, I'm sure any thief would know how to reset em. I can buy the info for like $20, but the stereo is only worth about $5. I'll probably stick a scion deck in there if I can't figure out how to program it. Or just leave the original one in it.
