Not sure if this is the right place for this, but I was looking at the center console heater in my LX and thought it would be really cool if that could just be running when the engine was off producing heat from an external source like maybe heater water from a propane tank?

I don't want a diesel heater, so I was thinking like a self-enclosed jet-boil type tank that is super-efficient and heating water off propane and then you have two heater hoses coming off the tank into a small radiator with a 12v fan on it. Seems cleaner/less hassle/less dangerous than a diesel heater? Does something like this exist?

yea there are RV tankless 12v water heaters, I think that would do what you want with a pump, but they also make gasoline 12v air heaters that might be alot simpler and efficient. Diesel heater is always going to be the safest though, they burn quite clean.

Wow yeah that looks like it would do what I want. I wonder how much heat I could get from a small radiator and how long the propane tank would run for? I am really just looking for something that could take the edge off in a cold tent or SUV.

Might as well figure in som T's and hook up a hot shower system ?
