For those of you in Colorado I have about 30lbs of R12 remaining that I can use to charge older (pre 1992) R12 AC systems with. Will recharge you REAL cheap in order to get rid of the stuff. I have a complete EVAC/Charge system on site as well.

Dang, I could really use that. Too bad I'm on the left coast.

I'll be a Californina resident at the end of July, I am just worried that the movers will never take the stuff.

Just put it in the back of the cruiser, I'll buy it all when you get here :) Possession isn't illegal AFAIK.

Dave

as long as you are licensed, possession is cool, but a hefty fine if not at least 609 licensed...

is it a green knob can or black?

Denver is a far trip for an AC service, but I am tempted.

I used to do a ton of "on the side" AC service after I stopped wrenching pefoesionally, now I just have the stuff sitting around. I may in fact "hide" it in a box and take it with me. With a new set of o-rings a full chage you can be set for years.

I am in fact licensed, but I can't remember if it was legal for me to have "someone " transport it for me, e.g. the moving company.

Scott,

Put it in a box and ship it, At my shop in california I have to pay between 600 and 800 for a 30lb bottle, and it's like a drug deal when you buy it....lol

You never can have enough R12 right now

Scott

I am not aware of any regulations prohibiting interstate transportation of R12. You will find that most professional movers will not willingly accept any pressurized cylinders, flammable or not. They are paranoid about stuff like that.

ship it or carry it in your car for the move. It is worth buying, although in San Diego, you can find 30lb cylinders for about $400...thanks to the proximity to the border.
