I really love the rear tire swing out gate gas strut on the FJC. Can someone please tell me if there's any manufacturer info on that unit and tell me what it is? I'd like to buy one and then make it work for my tire carrier swingout.
What makes this particular gas strut so much better than the rest is that you can lock it in the extended position. Another words, you can lock the tire swingout open. The ones that I've seen always locks everytime you extend the gas strut. I like having the option of locking it open or not doing anything.
I didn't think to look for this info the last time I was looking at a FJC
