Hey Guys,

I've have gotten a lot of great advice from this place, and I have a few questions: (i hope not to embarrass myself.

1. What are trunions (sp?) My mechanic said that I need to have them rebuilt.

2. I've seen a lot of cruisers that go into water with a snorkel. How do they seal the interior of the cruiser?

3. When I turn on my truck i sometimes hear a swishing sound...like fluid swishing.

Thanks

The swishing sound is coolant going through the heater system, maybe an air bubble in the system.

I dont think they seal the interior, just make sure you dont have any electronics mounted to the floor. A too sealed interiour could make you float.

Trunions, the only thing I can think of is he means your front end needs new bearings, seals, knuckle bearings.

Trunnion bearings are another name for knuckle bearings, they let you steer side to side, located top and bottom of the knuckle.

ditto stinky on the other things.

The swishing sound might be water in your rockers. I know that the drain holes on fzj80's can plug up, maybe they can too on 60's? There are rubber plugs on the bottom of the rockers, yank one and see if water comes out. When I did this on my wife's 80, a LOT of water came out, so be prepared to get wet.
