Hello everyone i am a NEW owner of a lj 73 and am very happy to be amog Toyota funs .
Well the lj has the 2lt engine (2.4 turbo diesel) on and I wonder if it will run the 35"/12.5/r15 properly or is it better to run 33 "/12.5/r15.
The Car is daily use on the city roads and on weekend off road and mudding!!
i also found this 10cm(about 3")lift kit

Kit rialzo +10cm Toyota LJ70/73, HM4X4

please let my now what you thinging of ...

I've run 35" and they do rub. I'd recommend the 33" for sure. If you could find a narrow 35" you might be ok.

Skinny 33's on lightweight wheels if you want the 2LT to be able to push it around without any engine mods.

Hallo can someone tell me if it is possible to fit 255/85/r16 on the LC on stock suspension

the fotow are sowing the difference ...thank you

They should fit with a suspension lift. It looks like your current suspension has sagged a bit over the years.
I would recommend 235X85X16. These engines don't have a lot of power and oversize tyres will rob you of what you have. The 235x85x16 will take you a long way offroad but the skinny width will keep the wind/rolling resistance to a minimum.

And by the way, that is a an LJ70 or 71. The LJ73 would have about 10 inches between the wheel arch and the door frame, yours has 2 inches

thank you for the response!
for the time beeing the lj is powered by the 2lt but 1kz is on the way.
That is my father's lj70, mine is the 73

Hello could someone please tell me if l instal the 4" lift kit ...is there anything to heve in mind that might go wrong like: driveshaft joins , steering, brake lines ,panhard rods ??

2LT and 1KZ don't like heat, at all! Perhaps budget for an intercooler that's front mount so it can be modified to fit the next engine come the time. It'll generate a bit more power to turn those wheels while keeping your engine happier

I was thinking about a bit more ,maybe 3"

It's on my plan to instal intercooler, like from a Mitsubishi r something like that

I ran 35" tires a few times and could still power up 8% grades at 100km/h with a 2LTE. But it is intercooled, 18psi and full fuel. 1KZT is probably about the same power so should have no problems. Intercooler is really good for the motor though and will help prevent over heating problems. I also highly recommend Evans Waterless Coolant, as it will greatly reduce the chance of overheating and head crack issues.

35"x12.5" did rub though. They hit my radius arms and mud flaps with a 2" lift. So I'm going to say a 4" lift would definitely be needed.

You'll need castor correction bushings, sway bar drop links, and a longer/modified panhard rod. You'll also need to extend brake lines, and modify the brake proportioning rod mount.

I think a 2" lift with 33" tires would be better. Or skinny 34" tires would be fine too.
