Can I get my GMC 2500 towing a trailer (and my rig) into either Ohlone campground or Hudner Pass campground at HH SVRA?

Whole area of Hudner Ranch is still closed due to the rainy season and repairs that will take some more time. Have just been there 2 weeks ago.

I think you could make Hudner, but here's the SVRA statement on their website: Hudner is NOT accessible to vehicles towing trailers
Also keep in mind that you'd have to reserve Hudner and Ohlone via reservecalifornia!

Thanks for the info. So, where would you suggest I camp and drive. This is just a shake down run for a newly built rig, just need some miles

You can camp at the Obstacle Course as well as at Sycamore Camp. Both areas are made to pull in with a (camping) trailer and go from there. Both access roads to the campground can be run with a Honda Civic :-D just flat dirt road.
The area at the obstacle course has 5 (6?) pavillions where you can camp/ day use, much more space for the trailer. Generally the louder area as people are gathering to watch. restrooms, water available.
Sycamore is a bit smaller/ tighter, has 6 sites, shaded and has restrooms and warm showers.

Entry is $5 and staying overnight is another $5. Pay at the entry station (where the motorcycle/ ATV area is), pull back to the street, take a right. You'll pass Hudner on the left, a group/ special event area on the right and then you see the big gate on the right. The ranger provide the numbers for the lock and there you go :)

Cow Mtn, Ukiah ? They have the play area with some decent hard spots/climbs, plenty of roads, creeks, etc to test on. Much close too.

What about Carnegie ohv ? Or I don’t even know if it’s still open but Frank Rains Ohv

I think Carnegie is heavily focussing on 2 wheel/ATV and only has a small play area for 4x4, no trails.
Never been to Frank Raines. Quite a drive from here.

Also. Stonyford

I’m going to make it to Cow Mountain. The rest I’ll look into. There’s also one east of Sacramento as well I’ve never been too. Also, could go to Loon Lake and run into Granite Bowl when I have a little more confidence.

Okay, made it down an back, picture for attention. Hollister Hills is much nicer than I had expected. you always see pictures of the day use area or the man made terrain area, but it's a lovely mountain and the view from the top of Upper Ranch is incredible. I camped at Sycamore. Very nice spot and I was all alone Thursday night.

Thanks for all the help.

yeah, the trail system is good and once Hudner is open again you got even more. I guess you're also hitting some size restrictions with that ride he? :)

Thanks for the feedback

It's a little wide for the harder trails - lots of brush, and most of it is poison oak.

How did it do ?

It did very well. Stayed cool. Brakes and clutch worked. Bed was bouncing around a little, had to bolt it down. But no major issues. Hoping to do the wentworth springs to Loon Lake loop in a week or two.
