Some will say Bilstein, I find OME to my liking.

2 1/2" is on the high end for standard length shocks, if he's going to stretch it out some, maybe "L's" would be good, but really standard length are OK too. No price difference on most sites.

Me and my brother were thinking Bilstein... But i will bring the OME idea up to him and see what he thinks.....

The kid is getting big..... One year old and running around...... Really really interesting stage he is in.... I do have to say the older he gets the more I like it.....

I am going to be the turd in the punch bowl and say Bilsteins. I had the OMEs and the Bilsteins with the same springs and I found the Bilsteins rode a little softer around town with slightly less sharpness on the bumps. The fade or lack thereof off-road was about the same as was the body roll. The OMEs are good but the Bilsteins are a little better. Only problem is you have to convert the pin mounts front and rear to run the Bilsteins.

It depends what he wants to do with the truck. If he want a do everything truck work on road, off road, etc. OME. If he is looking to rock crawl it when he is not on road, or do some higher speed stuff a valved Bilstein or longer shock would be the best way to go IMHO.

Been happy with my procomp 9000's (9570, chevy trucks with a lift spec) with that 2.5" lift. For ~ $100 on deal (3for 4) , price is right and they work well on my truck even with the extra weight. Blew one out (seal oil leak) after 3 yrs but replaced free from 4wp.

Bilsteins is what we had in mind.......... He is still undecided but the pro-comp shocks we didn't think about.... Thanks for all the input guys....... I will let you guys know what we end up going with!!

I've got the OME 2.5" coils, and still run the stock length Bilsteins.

I like 'em, haven't had any probs yet. But then again, I haven't twisted anything up very far. But a few launches at Pismo and they still are working fine.
