I'm looking at buying a 2003 LC with 173k miles for $14k. I had it checked out by mechanic and it looks in great shape. The only question I had was I found out doing a service history check on Toyota that the engine was replaced at 135k miles. I called the dealer who did the repair and they said the notes show the reason for the engine being replaced was owner had jiffy lube do an oil change and they forget to put the oil drain plug in.
My question to y'all is whether this is good? It seems like it would be cause that means new timing belt along with new rings, pistons, rods, gaskets, etc. I am thinking right?
Is this a decent deal? The $14k is before taxes.
Thanks.
