I recently put on a new headgasket and manifold gaskets and all that good stuff. Took me longer than it should have, but i'm there now. Started right up, need some better adjusting of the valves. But here is my question:

I was having some leaking of radiator fluid from underneath the vehicle, behind the oil pan. there is a little rubber grommet that was leaking: I'm sorry I don't have pictures, it's in the shop getting a once over by a real mechanic.

I forgot to tell him, so I thought I would check here. That is probably not enough information to go on, so let me see if I can clarify some more. Is behind the firewall, probably close to the rear heater. But I can't think why there would be coolant in this area of the truck, unless the lines for the rear heater go down there. I have the FSM's but they don't cover this.

Any ideas?

There are two metal tubes that run from the passenger side firewall, down underneath the truck back to the rear heater. The tubes end and rubber hose elbows are used to connect the tubes to the rear heater core. And yes, your engine coolant is what makes your rear heater hot. this schematic is from the SOR website.

You have a 40, a 60, and an 80. Which one are you asking about?

sorry

Posting in the 60 forum, so thought that was implied. The 60.

BTW, only a 60 and an 80. but if I could I would buy the 40 back today.
Biggest mistake to sell. . .
