hey forum I'm trying to use the tape deck din in my 2003 and I was going to relocate the tape deck since I've read countless threads that it needs to stay connected for the a/c to register on the stock system. However I've heard/read somewhere that you can add a transistor or resistor (I'm not super electronically sound) and truck the system and completely remove the tape deck. This would be ideal...anyone know about this or can you point me in the right direction.

are you talking about this comment from tlc?

their is a solution to replace head unit with a navigation system and keep navi, climate controls, backup camera working. you need to find the TX- and TX+ wires that enter the head unit from the middle plug, the small plug is the cd changer. middle size plug is navigation and the big plug is the head unit power and sound plug. Remove the 2 wires from the plug and add a resistor. I am not sure of the value because i took it straight from the head unit main board and never checked the resistance. After you have done this, all functions of navigation, climate and reverse camera become available, including trip data, fuel consumption.
