I am going on a trip w/ my wife and daughter next week to Arkansas. Its kind of a business trip and I'm mixing in some camping and 4wheeling. I'm going to be driving in and around the Conway area but will be camping in the Hot Springs area. I have a popup camper and am bring my RZR and 4wheeler w/ us to ride (leaving the 40 at home). Are there good national forest trails in this area? Any help would be much appreciated as I've never been to this part of Arkansas before but would like to take it in. And if there is any other fun things to do there, I'm up for different things!

Thanks,
Nick

Hot Springs... Lake Ouachita area cant be beat. Conway area, North you have Greers Ferry Lake area. Fishing and camping, great trails on C.C. and fire roads. Mike

Things I'd consider...

Wheeling/ATV:

  • Superlift ORV Park in Hot Springs
  • Twig Mountain ORV Park in Hopper, AR (and Wolf Pen Gap ATV trails in Mena)
National Forests:

  • Ozark NF north of Russellville, and if you go north enough, the Buffalo National River.
  • Ouachita NF around Albert Pike and the Little Missouri River and Falls (if you are in area for Twig or Wolf Pen Gap).
State Parks:

  • At least drive up to Mount Magazine and see the awesome lodge and views so you'll want to come back.
  • Petit Jean is close and has some nice hiking trails and great views.
That should keep you busy. ;)

You prolly know this but the Cottonland Cruiser guys are hosting the Southern Cruiser Crawl at the Hot Sprins ORV park next week. Come out and join us!

I knew the event was going on but didn't even put two and two together. I may try to join you guys, even though I won't be bringing my 40.

Come on out - we'd be glad to see ya!

I agree come to the southern cruiser crawl! Great time and Great people!

Ended up staying and riding at the Lena Use Area on Lake Ouachita, very scenic. Didn't make it to the cruiser crawl, maybe next year.

Thanks all for the help!

Nick
