Have re read it again thanks again for the write up, so for me to visualize this, when I have to turn the alignment pin to get it in, is there one way is incorrect or does it matter, because once it is in it will then rotate back to the normal placement. ?

So in Arnott instructions, they want you to put the bottom air bag in first and then insert the top and put in the clip, does that seem correct to you?

So this is what I was doing wrong, I was installing the top first and then attaching the bottom. This was causing the bag to twist.

Yes, you answered above through experience/directions, but the idea is when you install the bottom and rotate it 90° that aligns the pins up top. So then you just lift the air spring into position and mount the clip.

So much easier the 5th time LOL
I attached the bottom first then jacked up the axle so the nubs go through the hole and I attached the retaining clip, I find the passenger side much easier.
Tomorrow I will try to air it up.
Thanks again for all that chimed in and helped.
We are all better off because we all try to help one an the other.

So of course doubt is creeping in. The drivers side, I hooked the top up first then I raised the axle to it and I twist the bottom in, I have not ran any air through that bag yet, I am thinking to pull that bag and reinstalling.

yes, pull driver side and reinstall, bottom first, twist into place, lift to install top clip...

Ok thanks I will do that today.
Since the Toyota brand air bags have the cover over the air bag and Arnott does not, I cut the trim on top where the plastic band connected it to the Lexus air bag, then I turned the ab upside down and simply covered the new air bag, it is not connected like the Lexus just installed. Is this a bad idea? Should I remove it and let it go commando so to speak?

It's just a dust boot. I thought about how to modify them into my Arnotta but decided to just leave them naturale. The aarnott rubber seems superior on basic inspection so I'm just not worrying about them regarding dust. I CANNOT keep anything dust free (where I live) so I accept it. Besides on the other hand those covers could be argued to retain dust..😜🤷‍♀️

Thanks I was worried that maybe they could get caught up inside the air bag and cause a problem since they are not suspended anymore.

I can confirm Do not put the old air bag cover over the new Arnott air bags.
It is like wearing your old high school skinny jeans to a 10 year class reunion.
PS I never wore skinny jeans.
