Hey guys first post, sorry if this isn't the right section!
I have a hj75 running a 6.5L chev diesel v8
Pulled the transmission out during the week and all ive got left is the clutch still attached to the engine
Does anyone know what needs to be done to release the clutch?
Thanks so much
Pics are the distance it came out while removing the rest of the transmission, the engine (if that helps lol), and a part above the clutch that i suspect may have something to do with my problem

Hi Welcome to the Mud. There are a nice conversion to a 75 series. The picky you have is the modification to the clutch. looks like a bolt is missing.
To get the flywheel off you have to take the clutch and pressure plate off, or if its an auto the converter then you can get to the flywheel bolts. When you replace the broken bols, change them all, use the highest grade bolts and locktight them in.

Any idea on how to help pushing it back in?
Its pretty jammed i don't really need to take it off
Just gotta get it back in so i have enough clearance to put the new gearbox back in

That part don't move. If it goes in and out more than say 3 or 4 mm you have major problems. There is a bolt missing in your picture that holds it all together. That setup uses a flex plate from an auto and they crack . You should strip the lot off and inspect it all before you put it all back in. Did the clutch have a squeak in when you pushed it?

So in that first picture, the distance from the flywheel to the back of the engine looks okay?
I just wasn't sure if the flywheel had moved toward the rear of the vehicle
Is the gear of the starter supposed to always be in contact with the flywheel?
There is some distance between the flywheel and the starter gear
