Since they have been building our 100 series since late 1997, I would think they have all the bugs worked out. It will be interesting to see if this slows down the intro of the new 100 series, but they are still built in Japan, so maybe no delay.
I resisted buying non-Japan made Toyotas for years and finally bought a US made one in 04, and I realized first hand why I always insisted on Japan built ones previously. Therefore, I am even more convinced that Japan built Toyotas are better made.
There have been some complaints by mainly Canadian owners of new lexus ES350's about lots of interior rattles, engine rattling upon startup, etc., but we don't know if they're Canadian made of Japanese made (I suspect the former). I know some of the RX's were made in Canada since Toyota needed factory space in Japan to assemble the new RX hybrids and shifted production of some units to a Canadian plant. As far as I know the RX and maybe ES (not all of them, but some..mostly canadian and East Coast units) are made in Canada. West Coast units tend to be imported from Japan. If you look hard in LA, you can find new Camry's and Accord's made in Japan (gotta check the VIN).
