So, I just put an 80 series steering gearbox in my neighbors 60. Everything bolted up fine, but the steering wheel is now 90 degrees off of center when the wheels are straight. I was going to just unbolt the shaft from the gearbox and spin it until it’s correct and bolt it back up, but the slip joint won’t retract enough to remove it from the gearbox. Is it possible to just remove the steering wheel and adjust it that way?

Not ideal, no.

Center the box, make sure pitman arm alignment match marks on box sector shaft match marks. Put weight on the Cruiser if there isn’t any, ie on the suspension. Install shaft after centering steering wheel. If off a little adjustment is in the drag link to center it.

Cheers
