Seeking higher vistas
I know several of you enjoy summer trips to Colorado, so I thought to ask you to take some time and consider making public comments regarding the Pike San Isabel (PSI) National Forest Travel Management Plan.
Long story, short version is that the Forest Service has proposed five Alternatives (courses of action A, B, C, D, and E) for a new Travel Management Plan which will affect motorized use in six Ranger Districts covering an area from Gunnison to Denver to Pueblo (roughly 1/4 of the state).
The Forest Service's preferred course of action is Alternative C. Generally, the 4x4 community supports Alternative C but with numerous exceptions, and we're making comments to highlight those desired modifications.
If you have lots of time available, you can view several videos produced by Colorado Off Road Enterprise (CORE) which explain specifics about different areas and trail systems in detail.
If you have very little time available, please take five minutes and write a brief comment and reference an existing comment on a specific area or road made by some of the notable pro-motorized access persons such as Kirk Bode, Ryan Boudreaux, Marcus Trusty, Luke Gilginus, or Patrick McKay.
Here's the thread on our clubhouse forum with details of where to read submitted comments, and where to post your public comment(s).
thanks!

One week remains to make comments to the Forest Service. The comment period ends Monday, November 4th. Here's a short (9-minute) video primer on "how to make comments" which explains how the Forest Service categorizes written comments, how they prioritize written comments, and some suggestions...
