I have a factory pto on my '66 FJ45 and one of the mounting ears is broken off and the po booger welded it onto the original angle iron. A while back I found a thread on fixing just such a problem and I even printed it all off and the pictures. Now I can't find what I printed or the thread. I remember the poster showed how he drilled and screwed sheet metal screws into the original material so there was something to weld too. Can anyone help me find that old thread or help with ideas on fixing it? I'm going to take it to a local welding shop and I just thought if I had that printed out it might help them. Thanks.

They are not sheet metal screws; they are machine screws. We used "studs" that are used for fixing cracks in cast iron. Google lock-n-stitch. The guy with the broken PTO case just used machine screws. The key is to cover at least 30% of the area with screws for mechanical strenght.
