Hi fellow mudders, I have found a pto set up out of a JDM hj 61, that am looking to purchase to shed-bank and fit to Oldtoy down the track, is there any difference in the drive shaft lengths bewteen 60s vs 70s, I thought there would be, but not sure ?? Any thoughts ??

yeah the 60 series shaft is longer I had one and swapped it for a 70 series shaft, I was told there are different length 70 series shafts for different engine/trans combos but dunno if that is correct or not, the 70 shaft I used fitted my application but I've got an engine transplant and my winch is mounted in an ARB bar. From memory the 60 series shaft was 5 or 6 inches longer?

Right then, three months later and I have your measurements! Better late than never though.

1. Distance between end of factory angle-iron brace and winch - left side when looking from the front of the winch/vehicle [therefore driver's side].
2. Distance between winch and mounting hole in factory angle-iron brace - left side when looking from the front of the winch/vehicle [therefore driver's side].
3. Distance between end of factory angle-iron brace and winch - right side when looking from the front of the winch/vehicle [therefore passenger's side].

I laid out the entire assy. in a straight line and came up with the following measurements.

1. Splined end to Joint 1.
2. Centre of Joint 1 to Joint 2.
3. Splined end to Joint 3.

Thanks cult, this will be very handy in measuring my winch and shafts when getting to install, much appreciated, Cheers

Turns out under the strain of exhaustion I made a bit of an error. But I've rectified it now in post #5. So you may have to do some maths.
