PSA-Easy fix for car turning off after 20 minutes in ACC mode (1 Viewer)

I mentioned this in another thread, but seems like it would be helpful to have its own thread to help people out.

When you turn off the running engine, if you leave the car in neutral the accessories/radio will stay on. Leave the car in neutral and put on the parking brake and it won't shut off after 20 minutes.

If you put the shifter in park, everything will shut off after approx. 20 minutes.

So leave it in neutral and enjoy your music, drive in movies, etc., without interruption.


Just be sure to remember to put it in park before you leave it unattended!

Just remember that parking brake! I got lazy driving my wife’s car where I can stop and shut off the engine then it automatically puts in it Park and sets the parking brake. I defaulted to that when driving my LC and rolled back about a foot after shutting off the engine in Drive and no parking brake set. I pay better attention now
