My Prospeed Rack third row shelf was delivered today and I was able to install it before I go to work this evening. Fit and finish is really good but no printed instructions in the box or from what I could find on their website. If you’re somewhat mechanically inclined you will be able to figure out how it goes together fairly easily. It took me roughly 30 minutes to complete the install from start to finish. Needed tools are an o ring pick or similar to remove covers for the grab handles, a 4mm Allen wrench or socket, and an 11mm wrench or socket. I have the shelf in the lower of the two positions and fully rearward. The tire is a 35 and has roughly an inch of clearance.

Edit: here’s the link for the install. Watch the video for the 2g sequoia for instructions. The LX/200 has different side brackets than what’s seen in the video but same process as far as removing the handles and installing the shelf.

In an accident, what happens to that shelf? 😳
The strap is rated at 10,000 lbs and is secured to where the rear seat latches. I’ve pushed and pulled every which way I could to get it to move and it won’t slip. Granted I can’t exert as much force as an accident but the strap is designed to keep a vehicle on a trailer so hopefully it will keep a single tire in place.

I meant the shelf. How is it mounted into the sheet metal?

Each side has two 6mm bolts with a flat nut that drops into the slot where the handle was mounted. It’s not meant for anything hard or heavy just softer items. I’ll likely just store blankets, pillows, jackets and such up there for when we are camping.

It looks highly functional.

How far forward does it extend? If you were sleeping on a platform with your head pointing towards the front, would there be headroom issues?

No headroom issues. I’m 6’3” and can sit in the second row with the seat back reclined some and it’s still not touching my head.
