As a newbie, I found any mention of the seals in conjunction with the CVs leading to details on the seals as lower priority. The one takeaway was to not push the seal too far in. I did not realize this was exclusive to only the passenger side as the driver's side has a lip and different seal altogether.

Yes! Learned this one the hard way.

To add confusion, the bottom seal in picture (passenger side seal) is listed by Toyota as:

  • SKU:90311-47027
  • Positions: Left, Right, Left Front, Right Front
  • Other Names: Differential Carrier Front Seal, Oil Seal, Drive Shaft Seal, Tube Oil Seal, Axle Tube Oil Seal, Axle Seals, Seal Type T Oil

Haha yes! THANK YOU! This was the subject of some beverage can tossing and jokes about the liberal proclivities of someone's lovely mother. As well as some vigorous debates at the parts counter.
