Short of having to fab my own..anybody knows where I could source them out for a 10lbs tank??

I see the RV store carry the metal straps but they look weak.

Im planning on running this on the side of my trailer.
I already build the floor for them to sit on, but I need to strap them to the body.
I got a pair of quick fist but I dont want to drill 8 holes for a pair of rubber straps..

I did a search and saw REZARF built .. pretty sweet but I dont think I have them mad skills.. not yet anyways..
I also saw others have used large fire extinguisher holders, but again I dont know if that would work for my application.

Anybody has come up with anything else...

The diameter on these tanks is 8.5".

Thanks !!

you do remember that LPG is a liquified gas, and so preferes to be stored/used in an upright config, yes?

Not trying to bust yr chops, but having been on the nozzle, waiting for a recently filled residential tank that got pushed on its side by drunk driver (who fled the scene) to go Boom, into MY firehouse, I got some feelings about this.

try the local welding supply, that's were i got mine.
"B" cylinders are 8.5 inch. and sirenmoses is right
if you need to run the tank on its side you're going
to need a forklift tank....

I got them composite tanks.. I know they burn like a candle in case of a leak and wont explode.
I don't know if they go "boom" if they are crushed on a car crash.
Thanks for the info tho.
I will try the local welding supply.

it's not the composition of the tank that's the problem it's the valve.
your tank has a valve designed for vapor service if the tank is on its
side it will allow liquid through the service valve, that's not good...

Oh I see..
The tank will be upright not on its side..
Sorry for the confusion..
I did go to the welding supply and the cheapest I saw was $45.

I guess I'll fab my own..I got some ideas from what I saw at the supply store tho'.

Thanks eh !!

Maybe if you know somebody working in roadwork/drainage/excavating they use 10" schedule 40 pipe. It's 9" on the inside, just fab up some straps for the bottom to support the tank and fasten it the trailer. A pc. about a foot or so long should do the trick. Just stop along a road job and ask for a scrap.

Good luck, Pat

After much cursing and looking around for some prebuilt brackets I gave up and spend $10 on material and made my own..
The floor was made from 90° angle and some aluminum diamond stamp sheet that I had laying around then coated with plastic deep.
I think it came out good ...
Here are some pics...

I also opened up the fender as it used to run straight down and was about 2.5" away from the tire.....and would contac the tire when flexed. Not no more...

With the 10lbs tanks nothing goes past the wheel fender.

Not a damn thing the matter with that!!!

I like the look of the rear mounted tanks.

Great job!!

good job

OK, now I get it. The 10 lb tank is a svelte, attractive little thing that I can tuck more easily into spots around the trailer. I really like this idea!

Brilliant work!

I agree, but I'm trying to figure out the point of the lock.

to keep it from being stolen....

:D

...no seriously i think with the over hang the mount has
to be un hinged to remove the tank no just loosened...

Ahhh. That'd make sense. I didn't notice the overhang.
