Propane Regulator Freezing

I have a large propane tank that I connect my stove to now. After about a 1/2 hour of using it the regulator starts to freeze and the flame on the stove turns from blue to orange and starts to sputter.
Does anyone know of a way to keep this from happening?

"Preventing Regulator Freeze-Ups

The presence of moisture in the fuel may cause the regulator to freeze up. The following suggestions may help you prevent regulator freeze-ups and allow moisture to pass harmlessly through the regulator.

Always keep the cylinder (or container) valve closed and POL plug in place when not in use to prevent moisture from collecting inside the container.

If you suspect the presence of moisture, your propane dealer can inject methyl alcohol into your cylinder (or container) before filling."

You might try connecting a length of hose between the tank and the regulator to allow more heat transfer into the liquid. Additionally, a two stage regulator may solve your problem.

If it is truly a freeze up caused by water then methanol injection is the only way to cure it. What size tank are you using? What regulator? What may also be happening is that your btu vapor demand is higher than what the wetted surface area of the container can produce. If that is the case you will need to resize the container, regulator, and/or the line to the appliance.
