Volume Three of the Pink 60 update...and yes, it's been a while; Installment one was some general shots, installment two was cutting the cancer out of the rear fender wells, and assorted other spots.

Now, I've completed the Krylon Tan paint job, at least to the stage that 99% of the truck is one color (the top is awaiting Durabak or similar product application)...plus I've removed the hammered chrome OEM bumpers in preparation for my custom armor.

I've yet to find a set of fender wells to weld in; no rush, though, I suppose.

Looks good. Did you give it the inital coat of tan before you finished the body work?

What are you gonna do with all them tires? Have a bonfire? :D

I did some body work between painting, over the past few months; I wanted to get the whole truck to one color versus the various shades of red (pink) that it was...so there's plenty of body work left to be done, like welding patches in the drivers side rocker under the B pillar, in the rear quarter where the Landcruiser trim piece goes, and of course the wheelwells. I cut the bottom off the rear quarters ala Ferg's Blue cruiser, and that will require some protection, but at a later time. Next priority is to Durabak or whatever on the top, install new front/rear bumpers (with swing away tire carrier), then insure and register it, and start using it as a DD.

The tires aren't mine...they belong to the shop where I work on the truck; I guess they've done alot of tire sales this month? and are waiting for a recycler to pick them up.

I live on Ft. Knox, and the auto shop is available WED-SUN for work on cars, trucks, whatever...notice the boat in the bay next to me?!!

Making some progress man. I'm in Louisville if you ever need help w/ anything. There's not too many of us from KY on here.

looking good, are you going to make your own bumpers? Looks like everything is commign together. Roof going to match the body? Why durabak?

89s Rule,

Not necessarily Durabak, but some type of product like that is what I'm thinking about, for the sealing/protective qualities...I've got a couple of rusted "dimples" up there--not rusted through, but a concern none the less.

I have the bumpers made already...it's just been a matter of time to get the old OEM bumpers off, and fabbing some type of mounting bracket for the new ones. They are "plain" crawler style bumpers with 2" recievers built-in that Chris at CRBoffroad.com made for me a couple of months ago. The rear bumper has a swing-away tire carrier on it, which is a nice feature. I mounted an identical set (minus swing away on rear) on my Trooper...here's a pic. (yeah, I know...get a full size spare on there!)

You know you could always melt some of that Knox gold down and cover all of the panels in it. They wouldnt miss the few pounds
