I feel dumb even asking.

But im working on this taurus on the side, and i rebuilt the transaxle. Well, i got it back in last night and put 8 quarts of tranny fluid in it (all i had, it calls for 14). I plan on getting more on the way home from work tonight.
But last night when i tried to see if it would move, it wouldnt move unless you gave it a good ammount of gas. I only did it for a sec due to the transmission fluid being so low.
My main question is: Will a transmission with that low of fluid act like that?

Figured id ask you guys, i cant get it off my mind.

Thanks in advanced

A tq converter with low fluid will not always grab right.

Yeah, thats what im thinking. I filled the TC, but then only added 6 more quarts.

If it wasnt a friends car that im doing on the side, i wouldnt be thinking about it while working on another car at work... lol

Thanks for the quick response

well, the damn thing is still all effed up.

Goes forward in all gears, including R, N and i can feel it in P...

And no power at all (replaced the TC)

Good ol frustration
