I was looking at a used 4runner when I noticed a 2004 lc on the lot. I asked if it was for sale and the sales man said no its a customers but he is thinking of trading it in on a 2014 lc.

I got to talk to the current owner he said the timing belt was due in 30K and it needs new tires. But it has been well maintained and no problems other than a broken windshield. He could not say what kind of trade in they offered yet because he was still working with them. I was out of time and asked my sales man to give me a call if he did trade it in. It had 285K miles on it.

What do you think something like that would be worth. No real damage but no test drive yet lol It had a ton of stuff in it so I did not get a good look at the insides.

if anything i think you should work a deal directly with the owner...if he trades it you'll get further screwed on the repurchase. You could offer him 500 or 1000 more than the dealer and most likely make out well, and he's a bit richer also..

Here here to private purchase. I work at a toyota dealership in the service department. I spotted a 2001 landcruiser on our lot with 110 k on it. When I checked the computer at work it said they only gave the guy 4900 for it. Anyway the dealership decided to send it to the auction and allowed me to swap the driver front seat, the left front inner door panel, and the steering wheel (all were near mint) before they sent it to auction. Needless to say I was happy with that.

NADA puts that LC around $12K average trade-in. But, a 2014 LC is $85K so the dealer might offer more on the trade to hold the selling price.

just a heads up dealer called and said when they were looking it over after taking it on trade it had several codes including problems with the active handling and check engine problems they did not give me the codes but they would not sell the car and I was no longer interested.

So if you see a white 2004 lc with 290ishK miles be aware
