Hey Guys,

My truck has become less than reliable over the past couple of months, and I think it's time to jump into a GX. I purchased the truck new, 12 years ago, so I've been out of the game for a while. Is the Autotrader and Car Gurus "Great buy" indicative of fair pricing? Below are a few I found close by. These are listed as "no-haggle" prices, but in this climate, I wonder if it's true. Any differences between 2016 and 2017? Any services I should have them do before taking delivery at these mileages?

Well, thanks to @Tex68w and his build thread, I am the proud owner of a 2017 GX460 with 38k miles on it. The dealer swapped the chrome wheels with the black ones on the gray GX above and gave me top dollar for my trade-in.

Now it's time to delete the gaudy chrome, paint correct it, ceramic coat it, then move on to a lift and tires/wheels. Any good options for something along the lines of BFG KO2s for the 18s in the meantime?

Haha I've been looking for a while and was hoping for some validation before I pulled the trigger. I got what I think was a great price for a 1 owner, SoCal, dealer serviced, certified GX, and then an even better trade-in value on my truck. The mom-mobile comments are inundating me already so I need to get this thing lifted and on bigger tires ASAP.

Congrats on the new vehicle! I had no idea that you were 'serious serious' about getting one, I am glad that I could be a bad influence haha. Funny thing is that two of my buddies locally have picked up CPO GX460's in the past few months as well, I guess I am rubbing off on people haha. I am looking forward to seeing what you do with it. In regards to the tires on stock wheels with no lift, I ran the 255's (32.1") for a bit and I was happy but there are quite a few options out there. If you plan to go with 33's after the lift then I'd probably wait and do them then.

It's one of my gifts. Research the crap out of something, and then I'm able to pull the trigger with no second thoughts. You definitely pushed me over the edge.

Any preferred vendors for suspension? I'd like to go full bore Icon, but realistically this will be a car camping, DD, mammoth mobile. Ironman and Dobinson seem like popular choices. I like the stance on the GXOR concept, so I'm hoping to squeeze in 275/70/18s with BMC and fender trimming. Do you think it's possible with zero rubbing offroad?

I am the same way but at times I get impatient and jump in sooner than I should with my impulse buys lol. It usually works out in the end and I enjoy the adventure.

If I recall correctly, the GXOR concept had a Icon lift on it. I think Icon makes great hard parts but I am not a fan of their shocks, leaky crap that need rebuilds far too often. If you want quality and simplicity without spending a lot then both Dobinson and Ironman will serve you well. I was dead set on King's but I got an unbelievable deal on some Ironman FCP's and I couldn't pass it up, so far I have no regrets. 275/70's will fit with a lift and BMC but as always rubbing will be dependent on the offset and backspace of your wheels. 285/75/17's fit with the same mods and they are taller and wider so I say go for it with the 275'. I think there are some users here that run that size as well so hopefully they will chime in.

congrats......nice

but I'll warn you that you won't stop at lift...tires & wheels....

Bought our '11 in January & aside from complete fluid changes plugs ..belt @ 95K miles

17" tire/wheel pkg.....Iron Man lift....receiver type tire carrier..F Sport black grill

Iron Man bumper arriving this week....gotta luv the GX !
