Price matching on Tires????

kauffman tire is where I picked up mine and they price matched off of treadepot.com. I hit the jackpot with mine though cause the guy didnt charge me shipping cause they carried the same brand tire. I would recommend them to anyone cause they were very nice and easy to work with.

FYI........treadepot is kauffman's online site. :grinpimp:

discounttiredirect.com beat price including shipping on 2 different sets I have bought.
They did 4 31x10.50x15 Goodyear MTR KEVLAR $700 to door. That was about $65 cheaper than the site they were matching. You just have to call them and they will do pretty much anything to make the sell.

FWIW...Here in Macon I there is a local joint that did my 285/70/17 mounted and balance for $1040.. Cheapest I found was $232 a tire online before shipping and that killed the deal as well as having them balanced. If you want I can get a quote if you want to travel a little.

I keep striking out. Here's the line: "Yea we'll match online prices but you have to include the shipping in the over all cost of each tire."

So here's what I'm trying to do, found 35" KM2s or $149.13 each plus freight, that's a great deal. Problem is I'm getting killed on the freight at $300 so the net effect is about 225 per tire, not such a great deal. They're doing a little switcharoo and moving the profit from the tires to the shipping and advertising a great retail price. If only I were in Ca.

Like I said earlier I don't blame the local shops and would do the same if I were in their shoes but thought maybe I could get someone to match the $149 price, oh well.

I got a flyer in the mail from 4WP this past weekend and they had pretty competitive tire pricing (at least on the Duratracs I'm looking at). I don't remember what the 35 KM2's were. I think it is a one day sale on March 13th. Free shipping if in-store pickup or $30/tire to your door. Also free mounting and balancing with purchase.

What was the price on the duratracs? I'm leaning towards them also (315/75/16 the same as what your looking at?)

Ted and John,

Here are the quotes I got for your from Performance Tire in Alpharetta.

Scott,

All pricing below is out the door.

Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac LT315/75R16 = $1091.00

BFG KM2 35X12.50R15LT = $998.00

Hope this helps.

Thanks Smitty--not bad

I keep going back and forth on what I want to do as far as tire size, it's one of those things that when it happens it happens.

I don't remember seeing my flier. I got a quote from 4WP about 3 weeks ago for just under 900 installed and this is tempting but if I can get them to honor the price and throw in the install that would get it closer to $825. Have to check into this, Thanks

I haven't called for an "out the door" price quote, but listed at $220 each. Yes, that's the size I'm planning on getting too. I don't have my new wheels in hand, so probably gonna miss this sale special. I still lean towards 4WP because of their no-questions-asked warranty available, but don't know what the premium is for these tires.

Discount Tire matches Treadepot pricing without shipping charges too since they're in Atlanta.
Some super Toyo prices, btw.

Sidenote: I have a big trip coming up in early April, not enough tread on the MTR/k's to last the whole thing. I'm going to bite the bullet and replace them soon.

Does anybody need some 285/75-16's with about 8 or 10K miles left on them? They've been great tires but I don't want to be hunting for rubber in EBF Arizona during a trip...

Thanks Bill--That might be the best retail price I've seen yet and they're in Ellenwod, Ga. which is not all that far from the airport.

hmmmmm, must....stop.....from.....picking up....the phone!

dangit--confirmed. KM2s on national back order. I've heard this was coming and just waited 1 day too long. Nobody seems to know when exactly they will be available but sounding like 30 days +.

Get some STTs and get on with life.

x2 I like the KM2's but are they that much better than alot of other tires out there. This is turning into Andrews tire thread

Yea, haha I have to agree with that. I like the KM2s and have always heard good things. Also, BFG is very supportive of the off road community and of course helped out a great deal on the truck raffle so I'm trying to stick with them.

However, now that the BFGs are not available I'm looking at 3 different tires, the Cooper STT, Goodyear Kevlars and Khumo MT. I don't know much about the Khumo but they look very aggressive and are the best priced.

Kumhos do have great pricing ---- but they're Kumhos...

I fell prey to them once on a set of sporty meats for my MINI. Never again.
What a crappy set of tires that was.

I have no idea how they are as a truck tire but they were just so awful as a sport tire that I don't think I could ever trust them again.

just the feedback I was looking for so that knocks out the Khumos. thanks Bill

I have enjoyed the Cooper STT's and I have noticed more and more of them on cruisers in the 80's section
