I have 1976 FJ40 frame with a non-running, mildly built Chevy 350 with an Advanced Adaptors bell housing and a Toyota 4 speed tranny and t/c. It has discs on the front and rear, with a 2.5” lift and a shackle reversal. There is also a Saginaw power steering conversion on it. It also has an FJ40 stock roll bar that has a front cage welded on it. It has a big front bumper and nerf bars welded to the frame. It is sitting on a set of very low mile 33x12.5x15 BFG M/T’s and white wagon wheels.

The guy I bought it from said that he could get it running in a few hours. It has been sitting for 5 years, but it is not frozen.

How much should I list this for?

part it out. Bet you'd get about $1200-$1500 as it sits as one unit.

Can you get compression numbers form the cylinders?? Might help sell the engine.

Parting it is a great idea except that I do not have the space or the time. I have too many parts as it is. I should just take the axles and junk the rest. I bet I could get $500 for the tires on a Jeep board.

how is the frame? I wouldn't junk the rest, I would be interested in the frame depending on price and condition.

After seeing the pics I'd say pull the tires and sell what you can. Maybe sell the engine core to a rebuilder? Frame looks useable. Bet someone here would grab the axles up too. There are really only about 5 items to sell off of it realistically so shouldn't take much time.

The frame it totally solid. I bounced up and down on the nerf bars to test it out. The rear is in great shape. Everything is covered in a fine layer of barn dust.

So, how does this look?

Tires $500
Disc Axles $500
Engine $250
Tranny/TC $250
Frame/Roll bar/Saginaw $300
Total:

$1,800

I want it gone for $1,000. I don't have the space to part it.

I really think Kina should just throw his aluminum tub on it and sell it.

if you can wait until after Christmas, consider the frame sold. If not, I understand

Chris,
I'd love to hold it for you, but I am not parting it out. You can buy the whole thing though.:D

I'll wait until you change your mind and part it.....:flipoff2::D

2dolla.

did you get that hardtop with the deal too? what kind of shape?

I did and the fiberglass part is in very good shape. The rest is not. I still haven't gotten it out of my trailer to get a good look at it. It has the ambi doors too.

the rear hangers and triangle supports look good. That is a pretty good sign.

Looks like a pretty good deal. I knew chris was on this as soon as I saw the heading.

Chris, you MUST have good stuff for trade!
