Yup... I know some people will be pissed about starting this tire thread but... Here goes it!

Toyota is having a buy 3 and get one tire for 50$.

I can't get a set of 4 plus install for like ~820$

I'm thinking this is a good deal? Thoughts?

Also to give this thread more relevance this is also a post to let the hundy owners in Seattle know. I've never bought tires from a stealership but if you all think its a good deal I'll jump on it.

Ps side note this is not about which tire I want to buy; I like the LTX's they suit my needs perfectly

Does it include installation, road hazard, and/or lifetime rotate and balance? Discount tire has a pricing deal on their website that will let you compare apples to apples and their prices are on the low end of retail.

Road hazard is a basically the dealership or store telling you "you can shoot the tire and we will replace it free" but dont believe them, they will screw you on that every time.

Here is a list of reasons tire road hazards will not be granted

- we have no record of rotation
- your fat
- The nail was too big
- I dont like you
- We have never done an alignment
- Rinse repeat

I sell tires, trust me, they dont cover squat if they dont absolutely have too.

Who do you sell tires for? I've never heard of anything you mention as being a reason for a denied road hazard claim. I sold tires at one point in time and never denied a road hazard claim so long as the tire was at least 2/32" across all sections and the DOT matched the tire we sold. I had the same experience when I bought tires from discount. I never had a problem getting a tire replaced with a road hazard claim.

It's on paper what the consumer is buying, I can't thing of one point that could be argued except maybe if the tread depth is right at the minimum. It goes either way, I had people get mad at me that didn't have road hazard when I couldn't patch their tire with metal sticking out the side of the tire and people get mad when they couldn't get a road hazard tire when their damaged one had cords showing.

Thanks for the advice,
Ill make sure that that is included. I think ill have em order the set tomorrow and have them installed this weekend if everything checks out.

(the dealership only keeps geolanders in stock...)

You misunderstood my reply

I was speaking in general on the BS excuses I hear, and by no means do we as a company treat our customers that way.

I work for Cascade Tire Factory, located n Salem OR.

In general we repair all tires that are safe to repair, and replace all tires that warrant replacement, if you worked in the tire industry then you understand what I mean.

just to add, I can think of a few reasons customers may have that they feel entitled to a "free tire"

- I hit something
- It was not safe to pull over
- lies

trust me, I want to fix every issue through the door, but you and I both know people are always looking for a warranty, deserved or not.
