Been going thru stuff in my in-laws basement (full of needless crap) but this stood out

I guess at one time the area automobile club (Nassau ny is where my father in law grew up) took care of signage on town roads… this is a 1920’s wood Danger Sign

Klaxon were the horn … interesting read about klaxon And the klaxon company

And on a side note Klaxon in Japanese (クラクション) translates to horn

this sign was at a one lane blind curve just outside the village … basically sound your horn before proceeding

When the road got widened the sign came down and his father acquired it then

Nice score Johnny C…garage/man cave Art Du Jour.
Especially since you've got the provenance of the sign sorted out... not a trendy retro reproduction but a legit piece of local history.

not in my possession ... although I am able to as my father-in law says "take what ever the hell you want from down there" :meh:

he's already said the rifles down there i'd be the keeper of those when he is gone... 1920's era stuff... and I think a 30’s 22… I cant bring myself to start taking things out... he knows where they are all going and he's happy I want the stuff

The history fanatic in me likes to hear the stories behind the things that he kept before the information is lost

I guess this could have went in the “what did you do to your cruiser this week “ thread …

I was just sitting here listening to my wife on my cell… tell me about the dishwasher not draining as I pulled up in the driveway

Looking out and thinking … that looks pretty out there :meh:

And not really wanting to figure out the ‘why’ it’s not working … more thinking I get to pull several logs of fire wood out from my lil trailer in front of me and my back is not going to like that much … let alone lay on my back squeezing my had under the dishwasher

Tempting to just sit there with the snow outside, toasty warm heater blowing on your feet... wish I had a warm cocoa right now...

Maybe its time for another 1 week resto...

This next time is going to take much MUCH longer :)

Stainless tub would have been nice.... but... teseven stopped making them :( I may go with Terra Tough USA fiberglass tubs, I really like the quality from what ive seen so far and they keep the factory ribbing and such... a nice product TerraTough USA – The World is Your Highway - https://www.terratough.com/

Yes we will need to connect.... i will be in NY a bit more over the summer to do work on the house.... so we will need to hook up :)

Hey JohnnyC, any updates on which tub you are going with? I bought another project (aka rust bucket with wheels) and need to find a tub.

I don’t know if my cruiser will make it to the point of being able to replace the tub … lack of funds … time… space and health are starting to all weigh on the inevitable realization it might not happen :(

If I was to buy a tub I would definitely go this time with the Terra Tough tub from Stevie.

As a DD in the upper north east … not have to ever do body work again would be so much more appealing lol

I’ve looked at many different tubs and a fiberglass with factory ribbing and look is VERY NICE … I want to give Stevie’s a try

I did reach out to him, he was out of the country and would be for about a month or so. I already had a good windshield and hood so I went for the topnault tub. Fingers crossed that the latest ones will be decent. Currently i have both the 74 and the new 77 under the knife.

I like the gozzard tub and front end on both my fj40 and bj42 , no complaints for 20yrs + , it have some ribbing in the front floor but not in the rear floor , honestly it is cover with tool box , bags and more most of the time
The terra tub sure look good.

You must consider a 3/4 aqualu tub , it is a faster and easier job .
The big work with a complet glass tub is the cowl section (pedals, steering, switchs and knubs , all the wiring , hinges for windshield, doors and hood , brake and clutch master with all lines , heater blower and duck , alots of grommets and more little things .
If i ever build another 40, it will be a 3/4 tub so it don't take 4 yrs to do it 😄
