My wife's '87 MB 300D has a blown HG, warped head...in short done motor.
I've found a motor with 157K on it, 6 mo. unlimited mile warranty, delivered to my door for $1,425.12.
I'll need a new radiator, engine mounts, tranny mounts, water pump (and gasket), hoses, thermostat (and gasket), and rear and front main crank seals.
The best prices I have found on that list of parts, (NEW) by reputable parts manufacturers (not necessarily Bosch),
comes to about $400 or so, which is really not bad at all. http://www.autohausaz.com
Anyone know of a better/cheaper parts supplier for MB parts???
The only way I can even come close to affording this is to do all the work myself.
Any help in the North Central FL area would be well beyond appreciated. I do have a small to mid-sized pile of 60-series parts for trade...
