Hey everyone,

I just wanted to post up for two reasons: ask advice for spare parts, and offer up parts acquisition for anyone interest.

I have a 91 PZJ77 with lockers and manual trans.

Right now, my plan will be to have Toyota completely overhaul the brakes upon my return. Additionally, I would like to replace all the belts, t-stat, water pump, tensioner pulley, and radiator hoses. I'm considering getting the clutch and fly wheel replaced, as well as a "factory-spec tune-up". However the motor and trans didn't show signs of failure last I drove it about 4 months ago (my wife has been driving it in the meantime, but she is good with things like that).

In addition to the above, I intend to buy two full sets of belts, a full set of all soft lines, an alternator, and fan clutch.

What other advice would you experienced guys recommend? Any specific electoral bits you would recommend? Is there anything that I plan to get excessive, or readily available in the states?

@cruiserdan @beno are oil filters and air filters readily available?

The second part of this thread

Does anyone have requests for parts? Right now, I'm keeping a look out for cable lockers. Keep in mind, I will not take away business from established parts suppliers on this board. I'm just doing this to be a good guy for the hard to find stuff. Also bare in mind, Toyota no long makes a lot of stuff, so its hit or miss with many things.

Cheers

Parts are readily available and in stock.

everything I mentioned and more? or just the filters. because if its everything, that means I have much more cash to burn on fun stuff like winches and such! :D

I don't, but if I find a second set I'll let you know. Pm me your address and I can get a shipping quote.

Timing belts, radiator hoses, heater hoses, fan belts, idler pulleys, air cleaners, oil filters, points, plugs, etc and these are service products only the list go's on.
Don't forget my lockers ;)

The lockers are avalible, but they snatch a decent price. Most of the Japanese hate e-lockers, however, I've never heard of anyone having a failure. All the 70 guys swap for 60 lockers. So they are a bit pricey as it usually involves buying the whole axel. That said, if I find some in functioning condition they are promised to reevesci first.

There is an updated flywheel for the PZ engine that will allow you to eliminate the dual mass, this would be good to have.

Interesting. Do you have a part number by chance?

I'm in Tokyo now. Missed my connection to home. I'll be getting quotes out in the next week or so to everyone who asked.
