prep after welding

i remove the side kick vent pannel and weld some new steel i was able to finish the both side after grinding under 1/16 ''

Now i can 't find the solution to finish the pannel

Just to many wat to do

• metal conditionner (metal ready por-15) any good
• vinyl wash
• ech primer
• all metall body filler
• body filler

and how to control oxydation before the primer ,to much work on the pannel so far to make a mest whit the finiton

I hate the metal prep that turns black, it will start rusting in a humid environment before beare metal rust starts.

It best to use an etch primer, then primer then paint. When I painted my truck in Hawaii, I sprayed cheap rustoleum primer over the bare metal and then cleaned it off with laquer thinner prior to primering the whole truck. I did not use an etch primer and have had no problems over the last 5 years, but I should have probably used an etch primer over the bare spots.
