I am looking at a two owner 2000 LX470 with 167,000 that supposedly has service records, has been dealer maintained, and was the wife's grocery getter.

I have seen photos and they seem to match up with the seller's description that the vehicle is clean and well maintained.

I have been reading a searching this forum for a while now as I am interested in an LC (more so than) or an LX. I have read the Slee check list and in combing through the threads here I have compiled my own little list. However I have a few questions that I would like to ask:

Please confirm that a 2000 has ATRAC and VSC - (1st yr - right?)

How exactly should I check out AHC while sitting there in the parking lot? (*I have never even seen an LX up close so I have no idea of how AHC looks, should feel like or may be assessed)

I am in the PacNW and pricing seems to be high (esp compared to TX); but what is a fair price for both parties assuming that the 90k service was done, the CV boots / steering rack isn't gooey, the hoses and belts look good, the interior and exterior are in good to very good shape?

The guy wants $12,000 which seems high but they all do in the PacNW.

Thoughts?

Aside from that anyone with a 2000 - 2003 super clean stock White w/ tan LC with 140,000 less for reasonable money want to part with it?

Thank you

FWIW I'm in the PNW too. I watched every car in the state and in portland for at least two months while I was getting up to speed on how to shop for them. I looked up close at a number of them and many of them are still for sale now. It seemed to me that everyone, dealers and owners with a very few exceptions which were sold very quickly, wanted way too much for what they were selling. I ended up flying to Idaho to get a good one at a price that seemed in line with what I had seen in threads here and saved thousands over what seems to be the price of a similar vehicle up here. No idea why, but take your time and don't be fearful of looking beyond our PNW borders.

Also - where will I find the date of manufacture as well as the vehicle codes (and what are those codes) to confirm that the vehicle is indeed a 2000 and does have ATRAC and VSC?

TIA

Do you have the vin?

If so use it to register on Lexus as the owner. If its been dealer maintained the records will reflect it. When I was searching I registered many vehicles.

The date of manufacture, VIN and other information should be printed on a white sticker inside the doorjam for the drivers door.

Any 2000 model (or later) should have dash lights for VSC and ATRAC, which will illuminate when you first start the car.

It seems like a fair price to me, if its clean. But I'm in Texas. Private party asking would probably be $13-$14k here, if clean
