Prado Problem

Guys i have 96 prado diesel (1KZ-TE). Recently the car was making lots of rattling or rather shaking of of dash board etc. i went to a mechanic. he checked all shocks and said the front shock required replacement. so i repalced them both with OEM parts.

overall the ride has improved after shockabsorber installation in front and bumps etc are handled well. but the dash still shakes on speed breakers and deep potholes. although overall the situation has improved after shockabsorber installation

could there be any other problem??? wheel balancing and alignmenet are perfect. tyres are brand new pirelli's

any help will be appreciated

Could it be that the dash is just loose from the earlier problem.

well it could be. how does one go about tightening it. cause one thing is for sure that rest of the car is fine.

Buggered if I know. But I reckon that you will have to remove a lot of plastic to get to the bolts & screws and such.

Loose dash

The dash is held in along the top edge by a bunch of plastic clips - which break off really easily. Have a look at 90scool.org - there's a description there in the 'Files' (become a member) on a fix of sorts.

Mine rattles like a b!tch, need to do the repair.

2002 Prado V 6

I have a prado 2002 3.4 vx petrol, done 120000 Km. The dash board is making lot of noise on off road. What can I do to fix it?
