guys i have 96 prado 3 Door version. i have contacted ARB Australia for shock absorebers and springs (complette kit) however they say they never tested the stuff on 3 door prados.

mine is the KZJ90 model 96 with 1KZ-TE 3.0 ltr turbo diesel.

any ideas on the part numbers etc.??? will the ones designed for 5 door model work on 3 door. i see here lots of people from venezuela with 3 doors so guys what parts have you installed.

Old Man Emu designed the suspension based on a 5 door Prado, but you can use the same parts on a 3 door.

Depending on where you are located, you can also order from a USA Old Man Emu dealer, since the 96-02 4runners use the same suspension system.

Here's what I installed on mine:

FRONT:
OME 881 Springs
OME N91S shocks

REAR:
OME 890 Springs
OME N86 shocks

we carry these parts

We carry these parts and have sold this set up to a few of our international customers w/ great results. Please contact us for more info

Hey TEPUI nice to meet you, I'm new to the forum and new to my Prado/Meru (it only has 2950kms. lol!), but I've already got 265/75/16 MAXXIS BUCKSHOT MUDDER tires and a Viper Acc front winch bumper (ARB style)(PICS COMING SOON). I have noticed you are running medium load coils in the front (OME 881) with firm valve shocks (OME N91S) and OME 890 heavy load coils and OME N86 firm valve shocks in the rear.. Doesn't that make it a little too jumpy in the rear?? I do plan on going with a warn 9.5xp winch up front but since this suspension was desinged for the larger 5 door prado (like 230 kgs heavier and V6) it'll be ok with the same setup you're running, but how about out back?? Do you think OME 906 medium load coils are enough of should I go with OME 890`s ??
Any help you guys can shoot my way will be awesome!! Thanks!!

Hi tiovtec,

If I were to do it again, I'd probably choose softer coils for the rear, the heavy load coils are a bit harsh when you're riding solo without much gear in the back. Since the 2 door Prados are lighter, I'd think that the mediums should be just fine.

Thanks a lot for the help!! I'm placing my order right away for those mediums!!

I suggest that you put

OME882 in the front because you have a bumper and planning to put a winch.
OME890 in the rear since the rear of the 3 door is lighter than the 5 door.

the weight in the front is basically the same as in the 3 and 5 door.

and since you have a diesel fed prado 881 are for normal weight 882 for extra weight eg, winch, bullbar etc.

btw the OME890 is meduim load. 891 is for constant 150kgs, 892 constant 300.

hi guys! would like to know if OME spring fits bilstein shocks? bought bilstein shock 6months ago and waiting for the arb bars for my prado. was worried might sag if i use the oem spring in front.
I have 3.4 V6 engine automatic.
I also noticed the rear bump stop is 3inches away to hit the axle is this normal or the spring is sag already? please help..

I've seen it done, not sure if it works with all model combinations. Check yotatech.com in the" 95.5-2004 Tacomas & 96-2002 4Runners"
forum.

both front springs have the same spring rate. the difference is that the 882 is 20mm taller than the 881.
