So the other day I had an issue where my return hose for the power steering had a tear in it and I found fluid all over the place underneath my 470. Freaked me out at first because it was at least a quart of fluid. Well I replaced the line and no leaks since. Been driving it for a week. The only thing that baffles me is when I was replacing the line, the fluid level was never low and still isn’t showing low. So why am I still showing full? Because it was definitely the power steering system.

To answer the OP's post, your power steering reservoir was probably over-full prior to replacing the leaking hose. Perhaps someone filled it to the "full - hot" line when it was cold.

I’ve owned it for 8 months without servicing the power steering. Done all the other servicing myself. There was an actually cut in the hose so I dont know.
