Power steering rack..

Hi,
I’ve got a 1996 Tacoma 2.7 auto ( yes I miss my 60 every day..) I need to replace the rack on it and found out that the Toyota one is around a grand just for the part. Any suggestions on a remanufactured or aftermarket one?

Back around 2000 I had an issue with my 96 rack also. I ended up getting an OEM one from a salvage yard for around $400 at the time.
I do remember the new OEM being really expensive.

That’s a great idea! I’m also contemplating trying to repair the rack, it leaks at the steering shaft but it might be smart to get a salvage yard one and then fix the one that comes off and keep as a spare
