Id look for someone parting out a truck and get a pump from them.

I am running 33's so that will add a little stress to the pump.
D'Animal you seem to be knoledgable on the subject of rebuilding PS pumps. Mine isn't leaking, making noise, nor is the bearing loose. The reason I'm looking at it is because the steering gets really tough when I'm wheeling. I'm thinking a rebuild isn't really going to help this issue since the pump shows no other issues. Your thoughts?
The box was rebuilt by west texas off road a few years ago.

When my pump died, I put on a Napa rebuild. Well, like others have experienced, that didn't last long. So when that died, I went Saginaw. I love it. For me, it's just a much better solution. It provides more boost which makes turning the 33s easy (and I'm set for larger tires). A replacement pump is readily available everywhere for reasonable prices if I should ever need one. Also, it allowed me to run off the middle pulley. This not only allowed me to lose my smog pump, but now I have two belts on the water pump so if one goes I still can travel down the road.
This was basically a bolt on operation. Like all things, going bolt on meant that it cost more (buying bracket instead of fabricating one). But I'm very happy so far with it.
And also how difficult is it to swap in a GM PS pump?
Zack
So the saginaw pump is a direct bolt on?
Like I said, mine is mounted on the old Toyota power steering mount. You have to fabricate a support that goes from one of the front bolts on the Saginaw pump. Mine is made from an old pump/alternator adjustment bar. If I can, and the upcoming hurricane allows me I'll take a picture of my system. So I guess it could be considered an almost direct bolt on. You can also use the mount sold by MAF, that one comes with a built in adjuster. Remember if you use the Saginaw pump whit the GM pulley, the Toyota belt is too thick.![]()
What pulley are guys using? The one I've seen from IPOR I believe is cast. I'm not too font of that idea. Any other options?
The GM pulley.
Here pics of my setup. Two bolts at the front, one bolt in the back, 18 months since I have this truck and so far has not failed..
Good deal. So where do you find the adapter for the HP side?
My pump is leaking so I'm trying to get after this and I don't feel like waisting time or money on another factory pump or a seal kit.
Sorry, I was talking about the adapter for the high pressure hose.
