Hi, I have BJ70 ST 1984 landcruiser without a power steering box. I am thinking of installing a powersteering. My first search for the power steering box has landed me no where. If anyone knows which series landcruiser power steering box exactly fits my BJ70. Thanks

Hi
Go to https://partsouq.com/ and put in your VIN to get to part catalogue specific for your vehicle. Toyota Car & Auto Spare Parts Online - Genuine Online Car Parts Catalogue - Amayama - https://www.amayama.com/en/genuine-catalogs/toyota is another option. Both work with diagrams that give a good impression on what is needed.
Most of the power steering components from the early BJ7s are long discontinued, so you would need to find used parts.
There are overhaul sets still available for pump and steering box. A common issue with used power steering boxes is however a worn worm shaft, which are NLA and rare.
You would basically need:
Power Steering box 4411060080,, substituted by 4411060081 "GEAR ASSY, POWER STEERING"
Power Steering pump (vane pump) 4432060100 with pulley 4431160050. You also need a engine main pulley with two groves and there is a tensioner assy 4438160020 & 4435060010 for the belt needed aswell.
Reservoir 4436060020
And some brackets for the vane pump, and a bunch of tubes and pipes and mounting brackets. The original power steering tubing is a combination of hard lines and flex lines that takes a complex round trip trough the engine bay. The connections to the vane pump and steering box need to be considered as well.
Not sure which parts from later or other models would work.
If you have to start from scratch, that's quite a journey, I'd say.
Good Luck Ralf

Hello I managed to find one power steering box for BJ70 landcruiser RHD but the seller has listed for a LHD, the part number is 44110-60081. Would it matter? Will it fit RHD BJ70. Comments and views will be appreciated. THANKS IN advance
