Good evening GX470 crew!

Seeking any and all advice you may want to share regarding power steering pumps?

After installing a new lift on the GX I lowered the rig and was pretty excited about the first spin around the block. As luck would have it, the power steering pump chose to give out. Very odd timing but what can you do? I replaced the pump, flushed the fluids, and completed more lock to locks of the wheel than I can count, 75+. The resovoir continues to fill with bubbles after starting the engine. I have also done many many lock to locks while the engine was running.

After checking all lines and all washers and o-rings are new, anyone have thoughts as to why I continue to get air in the system?

Much appreciation folks.

Best,

Michael

You might crack the return line connection to the reservoir when installing the passenger side UCA. The hose are common to get hard and brittle. It would create a vacuum leak and keep pulling air into the fluid.

Good morning @Jstawgn . Certainly appreciate your response. This was actually the last place I ended up visiting yesterday afternoon. I did see a few cracks at the end of the hose. So far so good, a lost less air after the hose replacement, the pump is not as loud and it seems to be working itself out. Fingers crossed I can wrap this project/episode up today. Thanks again. -Michael
