Hello all.

Just got around to replacing the dash instrument panel ECU(also had a wiper motor and relay) to see if my rear wiper would stop running on and on.

The rear wiper is now operating correctly.

Thought my side view mirrors would also work, but nope.

I bought a new pw mirror switch as the old one had a bunt up contact pad.

I installed the new switch, all are still f**Ked with the pw mirrors.

The passenger mirror still will not pan up, Only down and in. Than my new switch smelt like is was burning up.

Looked at the wring from switch to the pass door mirror.

So, does anyone have any ideas on what to look at? Has anyone experienced this?

Anyone have a wiring diagram for the power mirrors by chance?

Just got done working on this. When I put the selector to the left side to adjust the drivers side mirror. The passenger mirror is adjusting too. The same thing happens when I select the passenger side on switch.

I'm thinking maybe some took out all or most of the wires out of the connector for the mirror switch for some odd reason, and all are in the wrong place.

I would greatly appreciate if some could post the wiring diagram of the power mirror system, for a 1998 LC.

No one has a wiring diagram for (1998) the power mirrors.

If not could at least get a close up photo of the wires going into the connector?

Thanks, I guess new members get amy more help as others that I'v seen on here.

Anyways, took the passenger side mirror apart only to find out that these earlier mirrors use two of those door lock motors. They both work in each directions when tested. Might work on drivers tomorrow.

If you google or search mud for the FSM, you should find it has the electrical schematics for the 100 series; it might help you trace down your problem.

Can you elaborate on your rear wiper problem and corresponding fix? my rear wiper works all the time and doesn't turn off.. i had to yank the relay in the back watch near the actual wiper motor.. i thought at first it was the relay (should have checked) and purchased a new one.. the new one costs nearly 300 bucks from toyota canada (thieving bstrds).. i was able to purchase oem straight from japan from a local cruiser head who works to get parts shipped to our side of the border via air frieght.. it was 104 bucks delivered.. anyways, long story short; it didn't work and i have the same symptom. i'm not great at diagnosing electric, but have good skills on overall basic mechanics and can usually figure things out.

Looking forward to how you fixed your rear wiper..

My fix for the rear wiper was to replace the dash (located above the radio) instrument control module. Got a used one from cruiser parts .com.

Well, I have done searches for the FSM's but no luck.

If someone could please take a pic of the wires going into the mirror connector I would greatly appreciate it very much.

This is the only thing left that needs fixing.

have you tried searching on mud?
